The Pwo is a Chokwe dance mask and represents the incarnation of the female 
ancestor, the ideal woman.  It is made of hard wood and worn by a man dressed 
in a net tunic.  This mask displays the expressiveness and facial sensitivity 
that have made Chokwe sculptors are famous.  The mask has a deep polished 
mahogany color with a raffia basket headdress and wooden beads as "dreads".
